Less Human Than Human: Ranting To Hell and Back

WARNING:  This post contains offensive language and, to some, offensive ideas.  If you don’t like any of those things, stop reading.

This guy would have you believe that people who  actually question their origins and THINK for a minute about things that just don’t make sense are less than human.  Call me a blasphemer if you want to, but to this I have one thing to say…F*CK YOU!

That’s right, I said F U to a Cardinal.  And while I’m feeling especially bitchy and ripe today, I may as well get something else off my chest.

I know other freethinkers know where I’m coming from, but I do get the occasional commenter who feels the need to explain to me why I don’t see and believe things the same way and how I am in error for that.  You know the ones….”maybe if you have ever had an experience that you didn’t understand or couldn’t explain, you would not be skeptical” or “skeptics  are just too afraid of what they might find out if they believed” blah blah blah drivel…………

Listen, because I’ll never post this again here.  I have been immersed (deeply) on BOTH sides of the proverbial God/Satan dichotomy.  I gave it a shot both ways and was in some sense a “believer” at one time in my life.  I was born and raised by Catholics, I had been best friends with Evangelicals, I was saved and born again, my brother is a friggin Evangelical Pastor.  When I didn’t feel right about it, I left the church.  I left everything alone for a few years and was steeped in nothing but the mundane.  Later, I explored magick and the occult. I studied Eastern philosophy, witchcraft, and Thelema.  I was a Left Hand Path practitioner for a number of years…even associated with “vampires” before it was fashionable to do so, and was mentored by none other than the daughter and son-in-law of the founder of the Church of Satan (Anton Szandor LaVey).

I have seen what I was sure were miracles at one end of the spectrum and what I thought was a result of a curse cast by my own hands on the other end.  (No I have never done anything to cause physical harm to another person, and I never ate babies)  Let me tell you what I learned about myself and all forms of organized religion/magickal orders, etc…. it’s all the same  BULLSHIT with lots of different looks and rituals.  There’s a lot of honest people who really believe what they do is real and helps them in some way.  Good for all of them!  I am not among them. So those aforementioned comments about being afraid of ghosts or God or Demons or any other metaphysical entity will not help your cause.  This is not a believer’s blog, so don’t expect that stuff fluff here.

‘Nuff said?
